Description
This Honda ATV Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit is exactly what you need if you are looking to replace the high-maintenance, unreliable stock rear drum brakes!
If you ride in a lot of harsh conditions, you have quickly noticed that the seals on the factory drum does not hold up well and allow dirt, grit, mud, and water to enter and eat up your brake pads and wheel cylinder. Of course you can go the cheaper route and buy new pads, IF, your wheel cylinders are still in working condition. However, once you hit the mud and water again those new pads will quickly wear out.
Your Honda is going to last forever, invest now and get the braking power you need!

Can work well with modifications
I modified this kit to fit my 2017 Honda Foreman. IT WILL NOT SIMPLY BOLT ON WITHOUT MODIFICATIONS for 2014+ Foremans. In fact the fine print tells you it does not work on 2014+ Foremans. I was sick of my stock rear drum leaking all the time so I took a gamble and made this kit work on my atv. Initially I set it up using the mechanical cable. It was next to useless even with hours playing with the adjustments. I then converted it to hydraulic and it works MUCH better. I would definitely buy this kit again but you have to modify some stuff to make it work. What I had to do was remove my rear axle and grind down the right side notch that holds the rear axle bearing from moving inboard. I had this done with a lathe. This allows the bearing housing assembly to mate up properly with the axle housing. Next was to grind down the inside of the hub caliper assembly that slides over the axle spindle. The stock axle is too narrow for this kit so you will have to narrow the kit to fit onto the narrow axle. Next was to cut a slightly deeper notch in the axle castle nut a little to fit the cotter pin in. It barely fits on the axle and you need to make room with the nut crown notches. Next was order a left handed hydraulic master cylinder brake lever, an 83" stainless steel braided brake line, and a 10mmX1.25 banjo bolt, all for around $50 online. Assemble everything and you are almost done. You will now have an issue with getting the machine in reverse because your reverse cable used to be hooked up to your old rear brake lever. I disconnected it and lengthened the adjustment cable adjustment nuts to mimic it being activated to allow you to engage reverse. Now you can shift into reverse without using that stupid reverse lever thing. Just do not shift into reverse while moving forward or you will blow your tranny. I then modified the caliper bracket and mounted it on top of the rotor instead of behind it, keeping it higher and out of the mud. Other than that the brake kit works great. Just wanted to let people know it can be done on a newer foreman with modifications and it works well.
